Requirements
In order to qualify for membership in the Wallingford House clubhouse, individuals must:
- Have a diagnosed persistent and severe mental illness
- Not pose a danger to the clubhouse community
- Be over 18 years of age
In addition, we ask that prospective members get a referral from their primary clinical case manager or other mental health provider. Click HERE to download a pdf version of the referral form. *
Orientation
Once an individual has a referral for clubhouse membership, he or she is scheduled for new member orientation. This is a two-day process.
- Day One - Two Hours
The new member learns the clubhouse philosophy, completes the necessary paperwork, and meets the clubhouse staff members.
- Day Two - Four Hours
The new member watches a clubhouse video and spends time working in each of the two units. At the end of the day, the new member selects which unit he or she feels best suits their needs and interests.
